Send me your manuscript of 80,000 – 100,000 words, the length most agents and editors want. Over the ensuing months, I will:
- Comment on your characters, setting, point of view, pace, dialogue and more
- Help you establish your narrative voice
- Pose questions about the plot structure and point out inconsistencies
- Show you ways to heighten suspense by raising the stakes
- Query your research and grasp of investigation
- Help you cut the fat that inevitably exists in a first draft.
You’ll get chapters back in manageable chunks and revise while I read the next. At the end, I’ll read one full revision. The process typically lasts three-four months.
